ABOUT WALTER'S APOTHECARY

Built for the men I watched bargain with the wrong two answers.

The story of why Walter's exists, who built it, and what we stand for. By Walter Greaves.

The Thanksgiving

My brother left the table four times before dessert. His urologist had given him Flomax six months before. By that Thanksgiving he had the side effects everyone warns about — the runny nose, the dizziness, the quiet conversation with his wife about what the pills were doing to the rest of him. The doctor's other suggestion was a TURP. He'd shown my brother the brochure three times.

I'm not a doctor. I'm the brother who started reading.

Eighteen months

I read every randomized trial on saw palmetto and pygeum I could pull from PubMed. Carraro's 1996 head-to-head against finasteride. The 2002 Cochrane review. The 2018 update with twenty-seven trials and over fifty-eight hundred men. The European prescription history going back to the 1960s. I learned the difference between powdered berry and CO₂-extracted lipidosterolic extract, and why every saw palmetto on the Amazon shelf was the wrong one.

I worked with a formulator in the Pacific Northwest who'd been watching these botanicals work in his clinic since the 1990s. He had opinions on everything — dose, ratio, sourcing, what to leave out, what to never include. The formula in this bottle is what we put together over those eighteen months.

What we made

Saw palmetto at 300 mg of CO₂-extracted lipidosterolic extract — the same form prescribed in Europe as Permixon. Pygeum at 200 mg, paired with saw palmetto for sixty years in European formulas. Pumpkin seed, nettle, lycopene, grape seed — pulled from the published evidence at supportive doses. Vitamin E and B6 because the trials use them. Boron because the prostate uses it.

Nothing else. No proprietary blends. No 'saw palmetto blend 500 mg' hiding 50 mg of extract behind 450 mg of filler. No magnesium stearate. No titanium dioxide. No artificial colors or flavors. The capsule is gelatin, the filler is brown rice flour. That's it.

Made in a US facility. Third-party tested for purity and potency, every batch.

The brother

My brother started taking it two winters ago. By night sixty he was sleeping through. He cancelled the urology appointment. He's still on it.

What we're not

We're not a cure. BPH is age-related and the prostate doesn't shrink permanently. The men who feel best on Walter's tend to take it for years — for the same reason they started: they'd rather sleep through.

We're not a drug. We're a daily supplement, in the European apothecary tradition. Walter's exists because the two answers a man gets at the urologist's office — Flomax or surgery — leave a lot of men cold. We wanted a third thing on the table.

The 90-night guarantee

Take Walter's for ninety nights. If you're not sleeping better, we refund every bottle. No return shipping, no forms, no questions. We built the guarantee to cost us money if the formula doesn't work — that's how we keep ourselves honest.

Who we are
