Our commitment
Walter's targets men 50 and older. A meaningful percentage of our buyers use reading glasses, screen readers, larger text settings, or assistive devices. The site is designed with that in mind.
What we've done
- Body text floors at 16 pixels — no decorative type smaller than that on critical content. Eyebrows and labels stay at 12 pixels minimum.
- Color contrast meets WCAG AA across all text and most interactive elements. We're working toward AAA on critical-path elements (checkout, support links).
- Keyboard navigation — every link and button is keyboard accessible. Tab order follows reading order.
- Screen reader friendly — semantic HTML, ARIA labels on icons, alt text on images, skip-to-content link.
- Touch targets — buttons and links are at minimum 44x44 pixels for fingers and styluses.
- No motion-only cues — animation is reduced or removed when your operating system requests reduced motion.
- Plain language — we write everything for a sixth-grade reading level or simpler. Medical and ingredient terminology is explained in context.
Known issues we're working on
If you encounter a bug or accessibility barrier, email support@waltersapothecary.com — we keep a public list of issues and fix them in priority order.
Standards we follow
WCAG 2.1 Level AA is our floor. We aim to meet it on every page. The site is tested with VoiceOver (Mac), NVDA (Windows), and standard browser zoom up to 200 percent.
